Lola J. Banter

Lola Jean Banter, 86, of Heritage Pointe, in Warren, IN, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016, at Heritage Pointe.

Mrs. Banter was a 1948 graduate of Marion High School. She retired from Foster-Forbes, in Marion, and was a longtime Girl Scout leader. She spent many winters in Florida and was a member of the Nelson Street Wesleyan Church, in Marion.

She was born Aug. 23, 1930, in Miami County to Hubert and Clara Belle Hann Winterrowd. She married John Robert “Bob” Banter on Nov. 14, 1951, in Marion, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 2015.

Survivors include a son, Rick Banter, of Indianapolis; two daughters, Ronda (Todd) Levy, of Gas City, and Rita (Jack) Rhoades, of Fort Wayne; a sister, Helen Brown, of Hartford City; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Calling is Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a service following at 1 p.m., at the Heritage Pointe Applegate Chapel, 801 Huntington Ave., Warren. Chaplain Ginny Soultz will officiate. Interment will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County.
