George W. Myers

George William Myers, 76, of Mesa, AZ, and formerly of Huntington, IN, died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, at his home, after an 18-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

 

Mr. Myers served his country in the United States Air Force.  He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings, including that of bishop of the Huntington Ward from 1983 to 1987.  He worked most of his life for Triad-Utrad/Litton Industries in Huntington.  After he retired, he and his wife served an LDS Mission in Knoxville, TN.

 

He was born March 19, 1940, to Cecil and Bernice Myers in Huntington. He married Donna Jean Earlywine on May 2, 1959. His wife survives. 

 

Additional survivors include two sons, Ronald Myers and Ryan (Lisa) Myers; three daughters, Renee Emmons, Dr. Rochelle Myers, Rita Myers; two brothers, Jim Myers and Jon Myers; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

 

Calling is Friday Aug. 26, 2016, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Bunker Family Funeral Home, 3529 E. University Drive, Mesa, AZ. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, at 2 p.m. with a viewing prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 pm., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints chapel, 825 S. 32nd Street Mesa, AZ.  Burial will be on Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, at 11 a.m. in the National Memorial Cemetery, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd. Phoenix, AZ.
