A. Wendel Satchwill

A. Wendel Satchwill, 93, of rural Urbana, IN, and a native of Huntington County, IN, died Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, at 9:56 p.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor East, in Wabash.

Mr. Satchwill was a lifelong farmer and a self-employed mechanic. He was a member of St. Paul’s County Line Church, in Andrews; a 50-year member of Hannah Masonic Lodge, in Wabash; past master of Lagro Masonic Lodge 143; a member of the Wabash Eastern Star; and a past worthy patron of Eastern Star in Lagro.

He was born April 3, 1923, in Huntington County to Alfred and Elma Fidlier Satchwill. He married Eva Marie Wilcox on Sept. 20, 1944, in Wabash County, and she survives.

Additional survivors include a son, Keith (Kathleen) Satchwill, of Wabash; a daughter, Kay (Eric) Urschel, of Leo; five grandchildren, Jarid Gross and Sara (Matt) Cole, both of Urbana; Karalea Gross, of Wintergarden, FL; Susan (John Sorg) Satchwill, of Huntington; and Steven Satchwill, of Wabash; and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral service and a Masonic service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, at 10:30 a.m., with calling starting at 9:30 a.m., at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash. Burial will be at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.
