Karen L. Parsons

Karen L. Parsons, 59, of Roanoke, IN, died Thursday, July 28, 2016, at 8:54 a.m. at the Visiting Nurse Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Parsons had most recently worked in the Huntington North High School cafeteria as a substitute. She was a member of Pleasant Chapel United Methodist Church, serving as song leader, choir member, Young Adult and Youth Fellowship leader and president of Pleasant Chapel United Methodist Women.

She was born Dec. 24, 1956, in Hamilton, OH, to Gaylard and Lee Cleaver Hadley. Her parents survive in West Harrison. She married Rolla Parsons, and he survives.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Heather Parsons, of Roanoke, and Holly (Andy) Lengerich, of Decatur; a son, Jason (Jillian) Parsons, of Huntington; a sister, Gayle (David) Sampson, of Brookville; a brother, Gregg (Shelly) Hadley, of Manhattan, KS; and four grandchildren.

Calling is Sunday, July 31, 2016, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, in Huntington. A service will be held on Monday, Aug. 1, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Chapel United Methodist Church, 0880E-1100N, Roanoke. Interment will be at Pleasant Chapel Cemetery.
