David A. Ray

David A. Ray, 44, of Roanoke, IN, died Monday, July 25, 2016, in an automobile accident in Chicago, IL.

Mr. Ray graduated in 1990 from Huntington North High School. He had worked for Sodexo at Huntington University for 16 years as the head chef. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church, in Huntington.

He was born Sept. 26, 1971, in Huntington to Norbin and Beryl Gregory Ray. His mother survives in Huntington. He married Christy Holley on June 12, 1993, in Auburn, and she survives.

Additional survivors include three sons, Sam Ray, Zachary Ray and Noah Ray, all of Roanoke; a brother, Ron (Carolyn) Ray, of Huntington; three sisters, Patricia (Billy) Hill, of Delight, AR; Rebecca (Douglas) Cox, of Roanoke; and Amy (Michael) Maher, of Hawaii; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Curtis and Eileen Holly, of Laotto.

Calling is Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, in Huntington. A service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Steve Durrwachter officiating. Interment will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
