Kassandra K. Banister

Kassandra Kay Banister, 73, of rural LaFontaine, IN, and having family members in Andrews, IN, died Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Banister was a 1961 graduate of Anchorage High School, in Anchorage, AK. She retired from Wabash County Hospital, where she had worked as an LPN for 29 years. She was a member of the Wabash First Church of God.

She was born April 15, 1943, in Peru, IN, to Arol Clio and Ethel Mae Ridenour Frantz. She married John Weirs Banister, and he survives.

Additional survivors include four children, Beth (Randell) Wilcox, of Wabash; Chris Gates and Todd (Vicky) Gates, both of LaFontaine; and Chris (Dawn) Banister of Andrews; two sisters, Kandice (Robert) Rose, of Wabash, and Kymber (Kevin) Bowman, of LaFontaine; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Calling is Friday, June 24, 2016, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash. A service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Robb Rensberger officiating. Burial will be at Center Grove Cemetery, Wabash.
