Geneva I. Heeter

Geneva I. Heeter, 91, of Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at 7 p.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor in Huntington.

Mrs. Heeter graduated from Bippus High School in 1942. She was a homemaker and for over 14 years she co-owned the Indiana Head Resort in Chetek, WI with her husband. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Huntington and the American Legion Auxiliary in Laketon. She was also a member of Andrews and Warren Township home economics clubs.

She was born Sept. 15, 1924, in Warren Township in Huntington County to George W. and Vera Bernice Schultz Stetzel. She married Max L. Heeter on April 30, 1943, in Huntington County. He preceded her in death on March 27, 1984.

Survivors include a son, Ron (Karla) Heeter, of Maple Lake, MN; three daughters, Peggy (Donald Wayne) Santee, of Menomonie, WI; Kay (Duane) Beyler, of Sharpsville; and Carol (Chris) Lambert, of Eatonville, WA; a sister, Wanda (Donald) Thrift, of Huntington; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She is also survived by a long-time friend, Francis Carlson, of Rochester.

Calling is Tuesday, May 3, 2016, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary. A funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at 10 a.m. at the mortuary, with Rev. Richard Bunnell officiating. Those unable to attend may view the service on the Bailey-Love Mortuary channel at www.livestream.com. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in North Manchester.
