John R. Taylor

John R. Taylor, 85, of Huntington, IN, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015, at 8:11 a.m. at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Mr. Taylor graduated from Union Township High School in 1948. He retired from truck driving and farming in Union Township. He attended Markle Church of the Brethren.

He was born April 15, 1930, in Huntington to Norman A. and Elton Platt Taylor. He married Treva A. Lambert on July 15, 1953, in Markle, and she survives.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Connie R. (Mark) Striggle, of Huntington, and Cathy J. (David) Mills, of Roanoke; a son, Wayne A. (Delena) Taylor, of Angola; three sisters, Mary Brooks, of Huntington; Charlotte Pettigrew, of Arcola; and Alberta Thomas, of Fort Wayne; and three granddaughters, Sarah Mills, Laura Mills and Amy Taylor.

Calling is Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, Huntington. A service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, at 10 a.m. at the mortuary, with an hour of calling prior to the service. Rev. Raymond Scribner will officiate. Those unable to attend may view the service on the Bailey-Love Mortuary channel at www.livestream.com. Burial will be at Star of Hope Cemetery in Huntington County.
