Loren E. Jinnings Jr.

Loren E. Jinnings Jr., 83, of Pleasant Lake, IN, and having family members in Roanoke, IN, died Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at Markle Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Jinnings was retired after working for 22 years at International Harvester and eight years at Angola Coach. He had also owned Jinnings Softener Sales for more than 30 years. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was a lifetime member of Angola American Legion Post 31. He was also a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, in Angola, and UAW Chapter 57, in Fort Wayne.

He was born Jan. 25, 1932, in Edon, OH, to Dr. Loren E. and Dorothy Ridenour Jinnings. He married Marlene R. Fee on July 7, 1951, and she survives.

Additional survivors include a son, Alan (Vikki) Jinnings, of Bowling Green, OH; three daughters, April (Mark) Wheeler, of Orland; Denise (Robert) Fairchild, of Roanoke; and Paula (Tom) Martzke, of Delta, OH; a brother, Orrin (Pat) Jinnings, of Leesburg, FL; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Calling is Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Weicht Funeral Home, 207 N. West St., Angola. A service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Sept.9, 2015, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Daryl Emowery and Rev. Donald E. Meyers officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be at Hamilton Cemetery, in Hamilton.
