Esther 'Bea' Blake

Esther “Bea” Blake, 85, of Huntington, IN, died Monday, April 20, 2015, at 8:20 a.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor, in Huntington.

Mrs. Blake was a graduate of Monument City High School, in Polk Township. She had worked at Caswell-Runyan, in Huntington; General Engineering, in Andrews; as a seamstress; and retired from Majestic, in Huntington, where she had worked for 27 years. She volunteered at Miller’s Merry Manor, in Huntington, for many years.

She was born Jan. 31, 1930, in Monument City to Charles Coldren and Sylvia Grace Searles Kern. She married Charles L. Blake on Feb. 12, 1955, in Washington, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 1995.

Survivors include two daughters, Debra E. (Steve) Sheppard, of Defiance, OH, and C. Dianne (Don) Zoch, of Huntington; a son, Chuck Blake, of Huntington; two sisters, Jeanette Black, of Fort Wayne, and Nancy J. (Bill) Reed, of Huntington; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Calling is Thursday, April 23, 2015, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A service will be held at the mortuary on Friday, April 24, 2015, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Scott Reece will be the officiating minister. Those unable to attend may view the service on the Bailey-Love Mortuary channel at www.livestream.com. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County.
