William F. 'Bill' Winkelman

William F. “Bill” Winkelman, 73, of Elkhart, IN, and a native of Huntington, IN, died Monday afternoon, Dec. 15, 2014, at his home.

Mr. Winkelman graduated from Huntington High School in 1959. He worked as a railroad conductor for 42 years, beginning at the Erie Railroad, which was known as Norfolk Southern Railroad when he retired. He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Goshen.

He was born Sept. 27, 1941, in Huntington, to Fred and Bertha Peting Winkelman. He married Ruby Jester on Aug. 11, 1962, in Huntington, and she survives.

Additional survivors include a son, Michael K. (Rebecca) Winkelman, of Huntington; a daughter, Michele (Chris) Piciacchia, of Old Hickory, TN; a twin sister, Johanna Septer, of Ossian; and a granddaughter, Carleigh Rose.

Calling is Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. A service will be held on Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, at 2 p.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Goshen. Rev. Andrew Wollman will officiate. Burial will be Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church building fund.
