Dale L. Flora, 69, of Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, at 9:35 a.m. at Parkview Huntington Hospital, Huntington.
Mr. Flora was a 1963 graduate of Clear Creek High School. He graduated from International Business College, Fort Wayne. He was vice president and general manager at Indiana Auto Auction for 39 years in Fort Wayne, retiring in August 2009. He also served in the National Guard from 1963 to 1969 in Huntington and Bluffton.
Mr. Flora was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Moose Lodge 837 and St. Vincent DePaul. He was the past resident of the Huntington Lions Club, and a board member of Cancer Services of Huntington County. He was also a past executive board member of the National Auto Auction Association as well as the past president of the Midwest Auto Auction Association. He was a volunteer at Love INC and the American Red Cross.
He was born March 16, 1945, in Huntington to James and Berniece Eisenhauer Flora. He married Dana Eckert on Dec. 6, 1969, at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Huntington. His wife survives.
Additional survivors are two daughters, Danielle Flora, of Fort Wayne, and DeAnn Flora, of Carmel; and a brother, David (Pat) Flora, of Huntington.
Calling will be Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, with Rev. John Pfister officiating.
Burial will be at a later date at St. Peter's First Community Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
Immediately following the funeral Mass, a celebration of life will be held at the Knights of Columbus, 2817 Theater Ave., Huntington
