Rosmary A. Gable, 79, of Fort Wayne, and having ties to Roanoke, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at the Visiting Nurse Hospice Home, in Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Gable, a graduate of Roanoke High School, worked in medical records at Lutheran Hospital for 20 years. She was a 50-year member of Calvary United Methodist Church.
She was born in Fort Wayne to Russel and Zaida Jordan. Her first marriage was to Keith Cross, who preceded her in death. Her second marriage was to James Gable, who also preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Kevin (Mary) Cross, of New Haven; two daughters, Rebecca (Duane) Davenport, of Fort Wayne, and Jean Monnier, of Yoder; a stepson, James (Donna) Gable, of Fort Wayne; two stepdaughters, Terri (Kim) Herstad and Wendy (Greg) McDonald, both of Fort Wayne; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A service will be held today, Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne. Rev. David Harrold will officiate. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery, in Roanoke.
