Betty J. McKinzie, 76, of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, July 3, 2014, at 12:45 a.m. at Miller's Merry Manor, in Huntington.
Mrs. McKinzie worked in the cafeteria for the Huntington County Community School Corporation for 18 years and had also worked as a dispatcher at United REMC. She graduated from Huntington Township High School in 1955.
She was born Nov. 1, 1937, in Mt. Etna to William M. and Goldie E. Parrett Ferguson. She married Eldon R. McKinzie on June 30, 1959, at the Markle Church of Christ. He preceded her in death on April 19, 1988.
Survivors include two sons, William D. (Julie) McKinzie and Richard W. McKinzie, both of Huntington; a stepson, Terry L. McKinzie; two granddaughters, Tara L. McDaniel and Bridget McKinzie; a stepgrandson, Ray Johnson; and four great-grandchildren.
Calling is Sunday, July 6, 2014, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A service will be held at the mortuary on Monday, July 7, 2014, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Rev. Raymond Scribner will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Etna Cemetery, Huntington County.
