Gale H. Spaulding, 89, of Montpelier, IN, and having relatives in Roanoke, IN,died Friday, June 27, 2014, at 3:11 p.m. at IU Health-Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
Mr. Spaulding attended Montpelier High School. He was a lifetime Blackford County Farmer. He was heavily involved in the Independence Church as a former deacon and church elder. He was affiliated with the New Life Quartet.
He was born Dec. 3, 1924, in Harrison Township, Blackford County. He married Hazel I. Smith on Jan. 1, 1950, in the Independence Church of rural Hartford City. She survives.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Janice I. (Robert) Miller, of Marion; a son, Daniel G. (Lou Ellen) Spaulding, of Montpelier; a sister, Olive Gadbury, of Hartford City; four grandchildren, Michael Spaulding, of Upland; Matthew Spaulding, of Montpelier; Lynette Johnson, of Virginia Beach, VA; and Alexandar Miller, of Roanoke; and five great-grandchildren and
Calling is Monday, June 30, 2014, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W. Windsor St. Montpelier. Additional calling will also be held Tuesday, July 1, 2014, for one hour prior to the 11 a.m. service, at the Independence Church of Christ, 500N-300W, Hartford City, with Rev. Les Bantz officiating. Interment will follow in the Brookside Cemetery in Montpelier.
