Charles E. Alexander, 95, of Warren, IN, died Friday, June 27, 2014, at 4:15 a.m. at Heritage Pointe in Warren.
Mr. Alexander graduated Monument City High School in 1936. He served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945. He worked for the Huntington County Community School Corp. for almost 30 years as head of buildings and grounds. He then spent four months in Maryland working for Church World Service in construction. He was a member of the Huntington Church of the Brethren.
He was born Aug. 9, 1918, in Huntington to Istria Innis and Emma Campbell Alexander. He married Maxine Paul on Sept. 13, 1942. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Sara (Steve) Wigman, of Brownburg, and three grandchildren, Nicholas Allen, of New Orleans, LA; Samuel Wigman and Hayley Wigman.
A graveside service will be Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Lancaster Cemetery, 4694S-300W, Huntington, with Rev. Robert Miller officiating.
Preferred memorials are to Northview Church of the Brethren.
