Zula Faye Owens, 75, of Claypool, IN, and having ties to Roanoke, IN, died Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at 3:36 p.m. at her home
Mrs. Owens had been employed by Chamberlin Products, in South Whitley; Whitley Products, in Pierceton; and Lyall Electric, in Larwill.
She was born June 9, 1939, in Brethitti County, KY, to Weldon and Edith Burton Minnix. She married Edward Owens on Dec. 7, 1957, in Roanoke, and he preceded her in death on April 12, 2012.
Survivors include a daughter, Hazel (Tony) McKenzie, of Claypool; a son, Anthony (Kathy) Owens, of Warsaw; three sisters, Freda (Ken) Boggs, of South Whitley; Brenda Norris, of Boswell, OK; and Carolyn (Barry) Sapp, of Sidney; two brothers, Lowell (Audrey) Minnix and Ralph (Pam) Minnix, both of Pierceton; seven grandchildren, A.J. McKenzie, Austin McKenzie and Michaela McKenzie, all of Claypool; Nikkole Owens, Amanda Owens and Bryce Owens, all of Warsaw; and Brandy Owens, of North Webster; and a great-granddaughter.
Calling is Sunday, June 29, 2014, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton. A service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 30, 2014, at 10 a.m., with Rev. William Whitaker officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, in Pierceton.
