Janet Ruef, 80, of Huntington, IN, died Saturday June 21, 2014, at 5:47 a.m.
Mrs. Ruef graduated from South Whitley High School in 1951. She worked for more than 10 years in real estate sales for The Landmark and Better Homes and Gardens, in Huntington, as well as for Larry Wells. She was a member of Central Christian Church and the Ladies Auxiliary to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689, both in Huntington.
She was born Nov. 9, 1933, in Kosciusko County, the daughter of Carl and Lois A. Spann Stoner. She married Jerry Lee Ruef on July 18, 1953, in Collamer. He preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 2012.
Survivors include a son, Bradford J. Ruef, of Huntington; a daughter, Breck Ann (Martin) Hunnicutt, of Fort Wayne; three sisters, Bonnie Able, of Columbia City; Judith Cordill, of Mishawaka; and Margaret Walters, of Rochester; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Calling is Saturday, June 28, 2014, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., with a memorial service following at 10:30 a.m., at Central Christian Church, 500 MacGahan St., Huntington. Rev. Chris Hayden will officiate. Burial will be at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Huntington.
