Lowell R. Stouder

Lowell R. Stouder, 75, of Huntington, IN, died Friday, June 20, 2014, at 8:37 p.m. at his home.

Mr. Stouder graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1957. He earned his degree in business from Huntington College in 1961. He farmed all his life on the family dairy farm in Clear Creek Township. He also worked for Bailey-Love Mortuary.

He was a member of College Park United Brethren Church in Huntington, where he served as an usher, Sunday School teacher and on the board of trustees. He was a past president of Bippus Lions Club, and he served on the 4-H fair board. He served on the Huntington County Soil and Water Conservation board and he was on the board of directors for the Huntington County Co-op. He was a member of Gideons Huntington Camp.

He was inducted into the Huntington University Hall of Fame in 2005 as an outstanding athlete in both basketball and baseball.

He was born April 10, 1939, in Huntington County to Howard O. and Georgia Smith Stouder. He married Phylis I. Pasko on April 11, 1964, at Union Church in Huntington County. His wife survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Jayne D. (Todd) Perkins, of Wolcottville; A brother, Donald H. (Leanna) Stouder, of Columbia City; and three grandsons, Matthew Perkins, Mitchell Perkins and Michael Perkins, all of Wolcottville.

Calling is Tuesday, June 24, 2014, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at 10 a.m. at College Park Church, 1945 College Ave., Huntington, with Dr. Ray Seilhamer and Rev. Gary Dilley officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery in Huntington County.
