Joe Phillip Voss, 92, of Noblesville, IN, and having ties to Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Riverview Hospital.
Mr. Voss graduated from Cicero High School in 1939 and served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. His career in the rubber and automotive industries spanned from 1939 to1989. He served in plant management at Firestone Rubber Products Company, in Noblesville, and at the H.K. Porter Company, in Huntington.
He was a member of the Huntington Christian Church, a 50-year member of the Noblesville Masonic Lodge, and a member of Murat Shrine, Indianapolis Scottish Rite, Huntington Moose Lodge, Cicero American Legion, Tipton Elks Club and the Huntington Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was born Nov. 29, 1921, in Noblesville to Floyd and Elsa Farlow Voss. He married Dixanna Knotts, and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Toni (Steven) Dickover, of Noblesville; a sister, Phyllis Leiendecker, of Cicero; two grandchildren, Chris Dickover and Brian Dickover; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Friday, June 13, 2014, at the Cicero Cemetery.
