Robert J. Mickley, 79, of Huntington, died Sunday, June 15, 2014, at 11:30 p.m. at Heritage Pointe, in Warren.
Mr. Mickley graduated from Huntington Township High School in 1954 and served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960. He owned Mickley's Garage and Mickley's Grinding Service, both in Huntington. He had also worked as a self-employed truck driver, beginning his career hauling milk with his father.
He was a member of the Huntington Church of the Nazarene and the National Hot Rod Association.
He was born March 4, 1935, in Huntington to Carl and Vivian Soper Mickley. He married Marjorie A. Allred on Dec. 17, 1960, in Markle. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Cindy (Joe) Robinson, of Huntington; three sisters, Carolyn Miller, Sue Mickley and Dianna Mickley, all of Huntington; two brothers, Gary (Nancy) Mickley, of Huntington, and James "Jim" Mickley, of Fort Wayne; a sister-in-law, Betty Mickley, of Pennsylvania; and five grandchildren, Aaron Mickley, Caleb Robinson, Elijah Robinson, Sariah Robinson and Hosannah Robinson, all of Huntington.
Calling is Thursday, June 19, 2014, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at the Huntington Church of the Nazarene, 1555 Flaxmill Rd., Huntington. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County, with military rites conducted by Military Funeral Honors of Fort Wayne.
