Keith Edward Smith, 66, of Uniondale, IN, and having family members in Huntington County, IN, died Saturday, June 14, 2014, at 9:30 p.m. at his home.
Mr. Smith graduated in 1965 from Lancaster High School, Wells County. He farmed in Wells County for many years. He also worked in real estate sales and auctions for 25 years and had owned Turn Key Real Estate and Auctions. He was a member of the Markle Church of Christ and attended the First Baptist Church, in Warren.
He was born June 16, 1947, in Bluffton to Vaughn E. and Mary V. Weaver Smith. His mother, Mary V. Smith Miller, survives in Warren. He married Claudia A. Tobias Minniear on April 22, 2011, in Bluffton, and she survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Cory (Jayleen) Smith, of Markle, and Craig (Abbi) Smith, of Uniondale; a daughter, Mindy (Scott) Thomas, of Ossian; two stepsons, Nicholas Minniear and Nathan Minniear, both of Ossian; a stepdaughter, Courtney Minniear, of Markle; three brothers, Phil (Kathy) Smith, of Markle; Fred (Nancy) Smith, of Fort Wayne; and Jeff (Tonya) Smith, of Beaufort, NC; and five grandchildren.
Calling is Thursday, June 19, 2014, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Markle Church of Christ, 455 E. Morse St., Markle. A service will be held at the church on Friday, June 20, 2014, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Rev. Bill Fisher and Gerald Moreland will officiate.
