Bernice Newsome, 86, of Huntington, died Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at 11:15 p.m. at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Newsome worked for Schacht Rubber Company, in Huntington, from 1960 to 1976. She attended Gethsemane Ministries.
She was born June 20, 1927, in Wales, KY to Luke and Dolly Osborn Hall. She married Charles E. Newsome in March of 1943 in Prestonsburg, KY. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1984.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Ray (Joyce) Newsome, of Andrews, and Steve Duane (Amanda Gillespie) Newsome, of Huntington; two daughters, Dot (Don) Little, of Adrian, MI, and Glenna S. (Carl Wayne) Johnson, of Huntington; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Calling is Saturday, June 7, 2014, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Gethsemane Ministries, 2239 Hartman St., Huntington. A service will be held Sunday, June 8, 2014, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at Gethsemane Ministries. Rev. Worlie Newsome will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington.
