Dan N. Decker

Dan N. Decker, 65, of rural Bluffton, IN, and having ties to the Zanesville, IN, area, died Wednesday April 23, 2014, at 8:25 a.m. at his residence.

Mr. Decker graduated from Lancaster High School in 1967, which was the last graduating class. He enrolled and completed the General Electric Tool & Die Program. He worked for 25 years at General Electric in Fort Wayne, serving for 20 years as a supervisor. He started farming when he was 19 years old and had continued to farm in Rockcreek Township.

He was born Nov. 24, 1948, in Bluffton to Max L. and Virginia M. Hoffman Decker. He married Ellen Jo Cayot on May 2, 1969, in Zanesville, and she survives.

Also surviving are a son Jess Adam (Nichole) Decker, of Bluffton; a brother Kent L. (Beth) Decker, of Hudson, WI; and two sisters, Linda (husband Charles) Isch, of Bluffton, and Brenda (Russell) Mayer, of Ossian.

Calling is Monday, April 28, 2014, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home, 308 W. Washington St., Bluffton. A funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Steve Whetstone officiating. Burial will be at Emmanuel Cemetery in Rock Creek Township, Wells County.

Memorials are to Eastern European Aid Association through the funeral home.
