Harold F. Huebner

Harold F. Huebner, 92, of Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, at 12:55 p.m. at his home.

Mr. Huebner graduated from Engadine (MI) High School in 1941. He served as a surgical technician in England during World War II as a member of the United States Army. He was employed in welding at Fisher Body, Marion, for 23 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689, in Huntington, and UAW Local 977.

He was born April 5, 1921, in Engadine, MI, to Frank and Bertha Bentz Huebner. He married Lura Jean Dennis on June 23, 1946, in Huntington, and she preceded him in death in September of 1957. He married Esther Lucille Yeager in May of 1959 in Syracuse, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 3, 1982.

Survivors include a stepson, Jay Haney, of Roanoke; two daughters, Jan (Richard) Mish, of Schererville, and Joan (Ray) Morris, of Huntington; two stepdaughters, Cheryl (Mike) Thomas, of Markle, and Vicki (Kim) Johnson, of Huntington; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Calling is Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A service will be held at the mortuary on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Todd Thomas officiating. Burial will be at Star of Hope Cemetery, Huntington County, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689.
