David W. Harpster

David W. Harpster, 63, of Fort Wayne, IN, and having ties to Huntington, IN, died Saturday Dec. 14, 2013, at Hospice Home, in Fort Wayne.
Mr. Harpster retired from United Technologies, in Huntington, in 2011 after 38 years of service as manager of HVAC products. He was a member of the Auburn Moose and Elks.
He was born Dec. 16, 1949, in Auburn to Richard E. and Vivian E. Davidson Harpster. He married Reneé Johnson on Oct. 14, 1978, in Butler, and she survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Chad D. Harpster, of Leo; a sister-in-law, Lisa Johnson, of Butler; and two brothers-in-law, Neil Sutton, of Auburn, and Eric (Deborah) Johnson, of Butler.
A service was held on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at Pinnington-McComb Funeral Home, Auburn, with Rev. Kevin Marsh officiating. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be made to the DeKalb County Draft Horse Association or Butler United Methodist Church.
