Patricla L. 'Pat' Vining

Patricia L. "Pat" Vining, 77, of Roanoke, IN, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at 4:40 a.m. at Coventry Meadows Nursing Home, Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Vining graduated from Northside High School in 1954. She was a bookkeeper for Vining Slaughter Haus. She was a member of American Legion Post 160 Auxiliary and St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She was born Sept. 18, 1936, in Lisbon to Perry and Emma Austin Repp. She married Paul J. Vining on Aug. 7, 1954, in Fort Wayne. Her husband survives.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Paula (Steven) Stinson, of Pierceton; four sons, Dave (Carol) Vining, of Huntington; Steven Vining, of Daytona Beach, FL; Joe (Lori) Vining, of Roanoke; and Anthony Vining, of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren, James (Michelle) Stinson, Susanna Vining, Angie (Derek) Dane, Nick (Jennifer) Vining and Ian Vining; and six great-grandchildren.

Calling is Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Roanoke Memorial Chapel of Deal-Rice Funeral Homes, 240 Crestwood Drive, Roanoke. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to Mass, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Roanoke. Rev. Dale Bauman will officiate. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Roanoke.

Memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or St. Joseph Catholic Church in care of Roanoke memorial Chapel.
