Stanley Nicholson, 80, of Huntington, IN, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Coventry Meadows, in Fort Wayne.
Mr. Nicholson was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, both in Huntington. He frequently performed on the accordion and the piano.
He was born Oct. 17, 1933, in Huntington to George J. and Mary C. Kasper Nicholson. He married Marjorie Maldeney on Aug. 2, 1975, and she preceded him in death on July 30, 2007.
Survivors include a daughter, Kay Lynn (Jeremy) Dohm, of Fort Wayne; three brothers, Robert L. Nicholson, of Rome, NY; Thomas Edward Nicholson, of Huntington; and John Nicholson, of Fort Wayne; four sisters, Winnie (Thomas) Eckert, of Huntington; Teresa (Marvin) Hammond and Joan Powers, both of Louisville, KY; and Cathy (Ted) Pursifull, of Weiser, ID; and three grandchildren, Mason Dohm, Matthew Dohm and Molly Dohm.
Calling is Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington. The rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at 10 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry St., Huntington. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington.
Memorial gifts may be made to SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church for Masses in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home.
