Lelah A. Close

Lelah A. Close, 94, of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at 3:52 a.m. at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

Mrs. Close retired from Wetters TV and Appliance Store, in Huntington. She was a life member of Calvary United Methodist Church, in Bippus, serving many years as treasurer. She was a member of the Calvary Ladies Aid.

She was born Feb. 8, 1919, in Huntington County to Harvey S. and Viola Wagner Voght. She married Harold W. Close on Nov. 5, 1938, in Huntington County. Her husband preceded her in death on March 3, 1999.

Survivors include a daughter, LuAnn Schafer, of Fort Wayne; a son, Terry (Carol) Close, of Huntington; five grandchildren, Todd (Noelle) DeHaven, of Seymour; Amy Jo (Jeffrey) Walters, of Fort Wayne; Mitch (Julie) Close, of Syracuse; and Kevin (Julie) Close and Adam (Teresa) Close, both of Huntington; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Calling is Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A service will be held at the mortuary on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Barry Faucett officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, in Servia.
