Connie C. Heyde

Connie C. Heyde, 77 of Huntington, IN, died Friday evening, Sept. 27, 2013, at the Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Heyde had worked at Memcor and Miami Tool & Die as a secretary. She was a 1954 graduate of Lancaster High School. She was a member of the Banquo Christian Church, the American Legion Post 85 Ladies Auxiliary and was a past vice president and member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was a past member of the American Business Women Association, a member of the Red Hat Society and the Women of the Moose Lodge 837

She was born Aug. 23, 1936, in Banquo to Harvey and Esther Helms Hiatt. She married Carl Heyde on Dec. 24, 1976, at her parents' home. Her husband survives.

Additional survivors include three daughters, Kristi (Randy) Young, of North Manchester and Joy (Donald) Conley and Kelli Koontz, both of Huntington; a brother, Dan Hiatt, of Huntington; three sisters, Betty (David) Wamsley, of Brownsville, TX; Ann (Keith) Spahr, of Warren; and Sherry (Tom) Rupert, of Huntington; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Calling is Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home-Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Brad Kelly officiating. Interment will take place in the Mt. Etna Cemetery.
