Joyce Ann Sorg, 62, of Warren, IN, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at Heritage Pointe in Warren.
Mrs. Sorg, along with her husband, owned and operated P J's Flower & Gift Shop and Ware Brandon Monuments in Warren for 35 years. She was active in Tri Kappa, was a member of the Warren Chamber of Commerce and served on several committees, including the Salamonie Summer Festival Committee. She was also a member of the promotions committee for Historic Warren.
In 2008, she was selected as the Samuel Jones Pioneer Award recipient. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Huntington, and served on various committees and projects.
She was born Jan. 26, 1951, in Huntington to Billy J. and Ferol J. Kem DeWeese.
She married Peter P. Sorg on Sept. 18, 1971, in North Manchester. Her husband survives.
Other survivors include a son, Zachary Paul Sorg, of Indianapolis; a daughter, Christina Marie Sorg-Hudacin, of Greenwood; three brothers, George DeWeese and Robert DeWeese, both of Warren, and Bill DeWeese, of Marshall, MI; a sister, Mary Ellen DeWeese, of Warren; and two grandchildren, Violet Soleil Sorg and Cayden Asher Hudacin.
Calling is Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry St., Huntington, and for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the church. Rev. Ron Rieder will officiate. Interment will be held at a later date at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Huntington.
Preferred memorials are to the American Diabetes Association, Huntington County Right to Life, the Warren Volunteer Fire Departmentor the donor's favorite charity, in care of Glancy Funeral Home, PO Box 366, Warren, Indiana 46792.
