James Richard Caston, 82, of Gainesville, TX, and having family members in Roanoke, IN, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013.
Mr. Caston graduated from Roanoke Jackson Township High School in 1948 and joined the Air Force, where he served as an aviator and trained multiple squadrons during his military career. He retired as a captain in 1968.
He was born Dec. 2, 1930, in Poe to William and Dorothy Caston. He married Mildred Verlene Trease on July 18, 1955, in Mauldin, MS. His wife preceded him in death in February, 2009.
Survivors include two children, Mike (Erin) Caston, of Cross Roads, TX, and Terry Geeslin, of Frisco, TX; two sisters, Maryann Kummer, of Roanoke, and Dolores Ohernesorge, of Fort Wayne; a brother, Bill Caston, of Concorde, CA; six grandchildren, Harold Caston and Heather Jeffrey, both of San Angelo, TX; Kizzy Bishop, of Timpson, TX; Brandi Collins, of Aubrey, TX; Madison Caston, of Cross Roads, TX; and Danielle Geeslin, of Austin, TX; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville, TX.
