Mary Nick Hash, 90, died Monday, July 22, 2013, at 6:50 p.m. at Heritage Pointe, in Warren, IN.
Mrs. Hash graduated from Arsenal Tech High School, Indianapolis, in 1941. She worked as a wrapper in the meat department of Marsh Supermarket for 20 years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of the Red Hat Club, in Hartford City, and Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, in Indianapolis. She attended Grace United Methodist Church, in Hartford City. She was a former resident of Hartford City, moving to Blackford County in 1988 from Union, MI.
She was born Jan. 20, 1923, in Indianapolis to Nicholas B. and Zoi Siamas Pappas. She married Vernon Earl Hash on March 30, 1944, in Indianapolis, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 1977.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra K. (Charles J.) Roberson, of Hartford City, and Zoe C. (Fred R.) Fields, of Traverse City, MI; three brothers, William H. (Donna) Pappas, of Brownsburg; Michael N. (Patricia) Pappas, of Plainfield; and George N. Pappas, of Noblesville; three grandchildren, Corby Jaye Roberson, Adam Charles Roberson and Bart Harrison (Laura) Fields; and one great-grandchild.
Calling is Thursday, July 25, 2013, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St., Hartford City. A funeral liturgy will be held on Friday, July 26, 2013, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, 4550 Central Ave., Indianapolis. A graveside service will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis.
