Malcolm W. 'Bill' Gauntt

Malcolm W. "Bill" Gauntt, 72, of rural Andrews, IN, died Saturday, July 6, 2013, at 8:15 a.m. at his home.

Mr. Gauntt graduated from LaFontaine High School in 1959 and attended Marion College. He was a farmer, maintaining grain and hog operations, and a truck driver. He had previously worked for the railroad and for UPS.

He was a volunteer firefighter with the Mt. Etna Fire Department for many years. He attended Banquo Christian Church and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He was born Sept.24, 1940, to Lavon H. and Martha L. Jackson Gauntt. He married Laurel A. Pinkerton on July 1, 1962, and she survives.

Additional survivors include a son, Todd (Shannon) Gauntt, of LaFontaine; a daughter, Kimberly A. Holder, of Andrews; two sisters, Phyllis Minton and Carolyn S. (Tom) Rigney; a brother, Phillip L. (Chris) Gauntt; and three grandchildren, Branden (Sammi) Holder, of Noblesville, and Mikala Holder and Micah Holder, both of Andrews.

Calling is Tuesday, July 9, 2013, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Rd., Marion. A service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Grant Memorial Park, Marion.
