Sister Mechtilde Gogel

Sister Mechtilde Gogel, OLVM, 94, a resident of Victory Noll, Huntington, IN, died Monday July 1, 2013, at 9:40 a.m. at Holy Family Health Care Center at Victory Noll.

Sister Gogel entered the congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters on Oct. 28, 1941, and made her first vows on Aug. 5, 1944. She served in the missions in Michigan, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona and Texas and retired to Victory Noll in 2007.

She was born in Mariah Hill on Nov. 13, 1918, to Paul and Theresa Tretter Gogel.

She is survived a sister, Pauline Kern, of Ferdinand.

A vigil service will be held on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at 7 p.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at Victory Noll Memorial Chapel, 1900 W. Park Drive, Huntington.
The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, July 5, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., with calling one hour prior to Mass, at the Victory Noll Memorial Chapel. Rev. Thomas Fahey will officiate. Burial will be at Victory Noll Cemetery.
