Donald E. 'Don' Satchwill

Donald E. "Don" Satchwill, 71, of Warren, IN, and formerly of Huntington, IN, and Markle, IN, died Thursday, June 20, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. at Heritage Pointe in Warren.

Mr. Satchwill lived most of his life in Huntington County before moving to Wells County in 2000. He was a farmer and owned a welding and repair shop. He was a 1961 graduate of South Whitley High School. He was an active member of the Markle Church of Christ, serving as a deacon and a greeter.

He was born March 28, 1942, in Wabash County to Edmond and Mary Young Satchwill. He was married to Barbara S. Palmer on Aug. 22, 1965, at the Applegate Chapel in Warren. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Sharilyn (Dave) Boots, of Bluffton, and Marla (Deron) Overholt, of Huntington; a brother, Wilbur (Linda) Satchwill, of Tennessee; and four grandchildren, Regan Overholt, Ashlin Overholt, Kyler Boots and Kiersten Boots.

Calling is Sunday, June 23, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St., Markle. A funeral service will take place on Monday, June 24, 2013, at 3 p.m. at the funeral home, with Gerald O. Moreland and Greg Comp officiating. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Interment will take place at the Markle Cemetery at a later date.
