William M. 'Mac' Doermann

William McPherson "Mac" Doermann, 63, of Roanoke, IN, died Friday, April 12, 2013, at 6:04 a.m. at his home.

Mr. Doermann was employed as a security officer at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He had also worked as a realtor at Ness Brothers, Huntington. He graduated from Huntington High School in 1967 and graduated from Kemper Military College. He served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1983 and was stationed in Germany and Korea. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 160, Roanoke. He earned the Eagle Scout rank with the Boy Scouts of America.

He was born April 17, 1949, in Fort Knox, KY, to Dr. Paul E. and W. Ernestine McPherson Doermann.

Survivors include two daughters, Gretchen Bell, of Alabama, and Jacqueline Kimbro, of Huntsville, AL; one brother, Chuck (Anita) Doermann, of Bellville, IL; three sisters, Marcia (Tom) Herzog, Shelly Schilling and Diana (Jeff) Clausen, all of Huntington; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Calling is Saturday, April 20, 2013, from noon to 2 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington. A memorial service will be held immediately following at the funeral home, with Rev. Victor Kolch officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date.
