Calvin Linoln Jr.

Calvin Lincoln Jr., 88, of Auburn, IN, and having family members in Markle, IN, died Monday, March 4, 2013, at 11:15 p.m. at Betz Nursing Home, Auburn.

Mr. Lincoln graduated from Chester Center High School in 1943 and served in the European Theater during World War II, earning three bronze stars and a Purple Heart. He was employed by Dana Corporation for 30 years before retiring and moving to Oklawaha, FL.

He was born Oct. 16, 1924, in Chester Township, Wells County, to Calvin E. Sr. and Myrtle M. Slentz Lincoln. He married Betty Joan Lee in 1948, and she preceded him in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Sally (Doug) Marsh, of Auburn; a son, Fred (Randi) Lincoln, of Fort Wayne; a sister, Joyce Ford, of Markle; four grandchildren, Amy (Jim) Wensits, of Flintstone, GA, and Leslie (Sean) Hofherr, Stephanie (Ryan) McDowell and Josh Lincoln, all of Fort Wayne; and five great-grandchildren.

Calling is Friday, March 8, 2013, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a service following at 6 p.m., at Glancy-H. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren. Rev. William Smith will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at Lancaster Cemetery, Huntington County.
