Clarence Smith

Clarence Smith, 101, of Huntington, IN, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Heritage of Huntington.

Mr. Smith graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1930. He was a farmer and also worked at Bentz Construction as a carpenter. He retired from Memcor in Huntington.

He was born Sept. 17, 1911, in Huntington County to John C. and Mabel Spahr Smith. He married Mary Eloise Bricker on March 1, 1932, in Andrews. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include four daughters, Carol Buzzard, of Huntington; Mary Yeiter, of Warren; Janet Smith, of Meza, AZ; and Marjorie (Val) Hafen, of St. George, UT; a sister-in-law, Winifred Smith, of Warren; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Calling is Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Glancy-H. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren, and on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, for one hour prior to the 1 p.m. service. Rev. August Hacker will officiate. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory.
