John T. Shovlin

John T. Shovlin, 86, of Fort Wayne, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013.

A former resident of Fairfield Glade, TN, Mr. Shovlin worked in accounting with the United States Post Office for 29 years. He was a member of the Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church, in Fairfield Glade, TN, and the Crossville Carving Club, in Crossville, TN. He served in the United Sates Army during World War II.

He was born in Fort Wayne to Joseph William and Mary Theresa Shovlin. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marylin Shovlin. He later married Rebecca S. Shovlin, who survives.

Additional survivors include a son, Robert (Judy) Shovlin, of Logansport; a daughter, Linda Kroells, of Marietta, GA; three stepsons, Jeffery Morgan, of Fort Wayne; Charles (Rowena) Morgan, of Bluffton; and Gene Paul Morgan, of Albion; six grandchildren, Kelly (Shawn) Keith, of Marietta, GA; Beth Anne (Matt) Stonebraker, of Indianapolis; Casey (Angela) Morgan, of Huntington; Kristine Morgan, of Bluffton; Kimberly (Stephen) Barr, of Indianapolis; and Jamie Hobson, of Farmville, VA; and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at Covenant United Methodist Church, 10001 Coldwater Road, Fort Wayne. Additional calling will be held on Friday, Jan. 25, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Rd., Fort Wayne.
