Donna J. Rose

Donna J. Rose, 73, of South Whitley, IN, and having family members in Markle, IN, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, of injuries received in a single-car accident in Whitley County.

Mrs. Rose had lived in Michigan and Wabash before moving to South Whitley. She was retired from Dana Weatherhead, in Columbia City. She was a member of the Collamer First Church of God, where she was involved in many activities including the choir and W.H.O. (Women Helping Others).

She was born Feb. 9, 1939, in Whitley County to Dwight "Dave" and Dorothy L. Owen Goff. She married Frank Rose on Feb. 8, 1957. Her husband preceded her in death in 1981.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol (Steve) DeLong, of Lagro, and Mary Richardson, of Markle; a son, John Rose, of Markle; two stepsons, Toby (Sharon) Rose, of Uniondale, and Rick Rose, of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Alyce Hackworth and Gayle Hull, both of South Whitley; two brothers, Carl Goff, of New Haven, and Joe Goff, of South Whitley; seven grandsons; seven step-grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Calling is Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. A service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at noon. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
