Brent J. Augspurger

Brent James Augspurger, 60, of Roanoke, IN, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.

Mr. Augspurger graduated from Huntington North High School in 1970 and served as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the Roanoke Volunteer Fire Department, where he also served as a first responder and instructor. He was manager of American Legion Post 60, Roanoke, for more than 10 years. He was also a member and past commander of the Roanoke post and served as Fifth District American Legion commander. He worked for Menu Meats, Fort Wayne, for more than 15 years.

He was born Jan. 26, 1952, in Fort Wayne to James Morris and Louise May Brubaker Augspurger.

Survivors include two daughters, Rayna L. (Ken) Miles, of McKinney, TX, and Amber C. Meade, of Kansas City, MO; two sons, James M. Augspurger II, of Virginia Beach, VA, and Wayne G. (Nicole) Augspurger, of Highland Village, TX; three sisters, Susan (Rex) Miller, of Huntington; Ellen (Alan) Amick, of Roanoke; and Amy (Jim) Woodward, of Fishers; and 10 grandchildren.

Calling is Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A service will be held at the mortuary on Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Jim R. Tormey officiating. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke.
