Marie I. Guhl

Marie I. Guhl, 100, of Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at The Heritage of Huntington.

Mrs. Guhl was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Huntington County Women's Club, Monday Club, Huntington County Art Guild and Right to Life. She was a charter member of the Three Rivers Decorating Club.

She was born Sept. 2, 1912, in Columbia Township, Whitley County, to Charles and Bessie Sievers Kneller. She married Raymond Guhl on June 18, 1932. He preceded her in death on Oct. 26, 1985.

Survivors include two daughters, Kay (Arni) Burron, of Greeley, CO, and Jane (Doug) Doehrmann, of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Beatrice Boerhoom, of Monroe, MI, and Margaret (Jack) Fox, of Fort Wayne; 11 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Calling is Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington. A service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 648 N. LaFontaine St., Huntington. Dr. Richard Lofgren will officiate. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County.

Preferred memorials are gifts to St. Peter Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.
