Donald F. Sunderman

Donald F. Sunderman, 84, of Huntington, IN, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at 3:25 a.m. at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.

Mr. Sunderman graduated from Lancaster High School in 1946, when he began working at Simpson Grain Company. He became co-owner of the company in 1972 and served as its president until 2012. He was a past chairman of the Indiana Grain and Feed Association and a past board member of the National Grain and Feed Association.

He was a member of Central Christian Church, where he held various positions, and served as treasurer of the Star of Hope Cemetery Association from 1965 until 2012.

He was born April 1, 1928, in Huntington County to Fred J. and Marie Shideler Sunderman. He married Eleanor Stark on Dec. 2, 1951, at her parents' home in Huntington. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include two sons, Phil (Carol) Sunderman, of Andrews, and Duane (Penny) Sunderman, of Huntington; two daughters, Marsha (James) Reimink, of Tampa, FL, and Gwen Bowers, of Huntington; a brother, John (Marilyn) Sunderman, of Huntington; two sisters, Dianne (David) Parrett, of Huntington, and Patricia (John) Weeks, of Fishers; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Calling is Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Oct.11, 2012, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Rev. Chris Hayden and Mike Urschel will officiate. Burial will be at Star of Hope Cemetery, Huntington.
