Love INC and Dr. Stephen Geders have teamed up to provide children jeans for the upcoming school year, a need Bill Fetrow of Love INC says is all too common these days.

"We are working with a larger number of families than we have ever had in the past regarding basic needs," Fetrow says. "Many of our friends and neighbors have gone through the difficulty of having one or two of the major income earners lose their paycheck, but we have now reached the time when the unemployment benefits have run out for those families.

"These situations are like a pressure cooker - if we can help release a bit of the pressure these families are experiencing, we can help them cope. Because of the uncertain economy, people are anxious."

Needs for Love INC have changed over time.

"In the past, food has been the most critical need," Fetrow explains. "We are now watching as many families are making tough decisions regarding budgeting. Clothing is often among the first items families forgo, but children continue to grow and wear out their clothes, particularly jeans. We are grateful to Huntington Chiropractic Center for the program they are running the week of July 19 called Jumpstart Jeans."

The program offers any new patients to Huntington Chiropractic Center during the week of July 19 to 23 the ability to donate money and a pair of children's jeans, all sizes, with emphasis on boys' grades third through eighth, to Love INC and receive a full exam including computerized range of motion studies, computerized muscle testing, computerized trigger point analysis, posture analysis, and report of findings in return.
Established patients may participate for the same donation and receive a one-time adjustment at no additional cost. It would be preferable to bring a new pair of jeans, but gently used jeans will be accepted as well.

Fetrow is hoping Jumpstart Jeans will help them ensure hundreds of families throughout the county will have a nice pair of jeans for each child before school begins. Residents do not have to be a patient of the chiropractic center to drop off a donation, according to the clinic's owner, Geders.

"Anyone can drop off jeans and/or a donation to Love INC during this week," Geders says. "The Jumpstart Jeans program has no limitations on who can help. The more, the merrier."

Huntington Chiropractic Center is located at 1504 N. Jefferson St. in Hunt
ington. Patients should call ahead to make an appointment at 356-1212.
