No one speaks at annexation hearing

Huntington City Council held a public hearing on Tuesday, Oct. 27, during its regularly scheduled meeting, regarding the voluntary annexation of 7.79 acres.

The acreage will be added to the Riverfork West industrial site’s acquisition of 172 total acres.

Currently, the city’s industrial capacity is at 98 percent.

No comments were brought forth during the meeting.

The annexation will be further discussed as it is brought forth for a second reading at the next meeting of council, Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m.

In unrelated business, the council also approved an amendment to loans previously awarded to Huntington Municipal Airport.

The loan terms were changed from 10-year to five-year loans to align with State Board of Accounts requirements.
