Roanoke officials seek trash service bids

The Roanoke Town Council is entertaining bids for a new trash service contract.

The current contract will expire on Dec. 31, 2020.

During the most recent meeting of the council on Tuesday, Oct. 20, the council discussed in unrelated matters the retirement of park employee Bob Scott. Council asked Superintendent Phil Hibbert to reach out to a possibly qualified applicant.

Hibbert reported that the work on the park pavilion is continuing, and he is waiting on a response from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to move forward with the bridges at the park. He also reported that there will be two ditch clearing projects before the end of the year. The next meeting of council will take place this evening, Nov. 2, at 6 p.m.
