Warren plans Scarecrow Festival

The annual Scarecrow Festival, sponsored by the Warren Area Chamber of Commerce, will be holding events from Friday, Oct. 23, to Friday, Oct. 30, including a scarecrow decorating contest.

For participating decorators, scarecrows are due to be set up at Town Hall by Friday, Oct. 23. The Warren Town Hall is located at 132 N. Wayne St., Warren. For those who are unable to set up their scarecrow downtown, photos may be sent to the Son Rise Bakery at sonrisebak ery2@gmail.com.

On Monday, Oct. 26, all scarecrows should be set up and available for judging. Judging will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Scarecrows will be judged by popular vote on Facebook and the top three winners will receive local gift cards or chamber bucks as their prize.

A costume parade will start at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, meeting at the corner of 3rd and Wayne Streets.

From 6 to 8 p.m., there will be downtown festivities such as games, treats and food vendors available.
