Rep. Banks pledges to support equipment producers

Congressman Jim Banks announced he took the “Pledge to Support Equipment Manufacturers,” organized by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), the North American-based trade group. The equipment manufacturing industry directly employs 3,426 workers in Indiana’s 3rd district and contributes $8.2 Billion annually to Indiana’s GDP.

“Manufacturing is central to northeast Indiana’s economy and I’m proud of its contributions to American industry.” Said Rep. Banks, “I want the next generation of Hoosiers to feel the same way, which is why I’m dedicated to maintaining a pro-business, pro-worker environment and expanding Indiana’s manufacturing base.”

The “Pledge to Support Equipment Manufacturers” was launched this year as a way for candidates to show their commitment to equipment manufacturers and the policies needed to encourage investment, job growth, and development and production of more equipment in the United States. “Equipment manufacturing is a critical part of the Indiana economy,” said Mike Devine, President, Asphalt Drum Mixers, Inc. “Hoosiers are increasingly worried about the future of manufacturing in our country and are looking for candidates to support the policies that will keep both our industry and our state strong. I would like to thank Representative Jim Banks for his leadership and unwavering support for the men and women at Asphalt Drum Mixers, Inc. who manufacture world-class equipment right here in Huntertown.”
