Koch and Malone are named ABWA scholars

American Business Women’s Association Huntington Forks of the Wabash Chapter has awarded $4,000 in scholarships to Karmen Koch and Sarah Malone.

Koch is a third-year student at Butler University. She is working towards a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, with two minors in chemistry and business. She has been admitted into the Pharmacy Professional Program.

Koch works at Rehabilitation Hospital of Indianapolis as a pharmacy technician. Koch is a Student Athlete Advisory Committee member and is a weekly math tutor at a local middle school. She is also a member of Butler University’s women’s track and field team. She is the daughter of Joy and John Koch.

Malone is a junior at Hanover College. She is working toward a Bachelor of Arts degree in geology, with minors in biology and history. She says her goal is to pursue a master’s degree, with a career as a geologist at a national park as a museum curator.

Malone is a Crowe Scholar and Henricks Scholar. She volunteers for Backpacks of Hope in memory of her cousin. She also volunteers at dog shelters and a nature sanctuary. She is the president of Geology Club, secretary of Phi Mu Sorority and a cheerleader. She has worked at Salamonie state park as an interpretive naturalist and the school’s office of registrar. She is the daughter of Shawn and Heather Malone.
